Chico, CA - The Salvation Army will start serving meals Monday morning at one of the evacuation centers in Chico, the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds (2357 Fair Street).  The facility is filled with residents following a mandatory evacuation for those living near Oroville to Sutter County.

A team from The Salvation Army Chico Corps will provide breakfast, while a crew and canteen (mobile kitchen unit) from Santa Rosa will arrive in the morning to prepare and serve lunch.

Salvation Army staff will continue to assess the situation to see if additional services will be needed in Chico or any other affected areas.
